The Ice CreamA Poem by emmanI went to the grocery to buy something cold But I couldn’t decide my mind wasn’t bold I was confused of what to buy Juice? Soda? Or a cold mango pie?
I walked to the corner and saw a poster Presenting a product that’s called cookie monster The poster was so cool that I wanted to take it But so unlucky they are not selling it
I saw a section full of ice cream Presented by a poster that was so gleam Then I chose to decide that I will buy it Because my stomach was asking me to eat
One chocolate ice cream is enough for me But then I got one that was for free So I left the grocery at four thirty And ate my ice cream that was so yummy
But there’s still one ice cream left Thinking to give it to someone I knew I found a beggar asking for alms So I gave my ice cream and gently held his hand
I’m thinking about the old beggar Aren’t he tired of walking so far? If only I can help him to fight his battle Of his rights to live out of trouble
I saw him again just a few minutes So I took my money out of my pockets To gave it to him thinking he would asked for it But then he smiled with a face so neat
He said he was thankful for me being kind I was so happy and showed him a smile Then he walked away to cross another mile Thanks to the ice cream everything was worthwhile
;)
