I Am A ManA Poem by emmanMy mother taught me since I was young Of many significant things in this world That I must do well regardless of imperfection And avoid all evil in every situation
She said I must obey the constitutional law Respect all people and avert being racist I must confess to all my mistakes To give and share more than I take
She said I must respect all the animals Killing or hurting them will make me a criminal I should not bully my younger siblings That I should love them as I love myself
And then my mom strongly emphasized The rights of women should be recognized That I should not deprive them in all of their needs Protect them from harm like being a shield
She said that women are so emotional That I should be sensitive of my utterances I should speak to women with full of respect Because a violent voice would surely affect
Yes! Oh yes! I fully understand And captured the importance of every woman That they should be pampered With a kiss on the hand
Now I’m into a battle of truth and rights And believe the significance of the feminine side Because what makes truly a man Is a man who love and respect every woman.
