Chapter 2A Chapter by Gracie_Girl429Camille speaks to Riah, a reckless delinquent, persuading him to take her to the Fence.
Chapter 2
Camille The phone rings five times before he picks up. Evidently, I didn't think he would answer. "Hello?" A deep male voice inquired. "Is this Riah?" I ask nervously. "Who's asking?" "My name is Camille James. You probably don't know who I am but I go to school with you and-" The words spill out quickly in a nervous manner until he interrupts, "Woah, James? Camille James?" I assumed that he didn't know me, but on the contrary, he probably does. Accidents don't happen often in our city. The government has a committee that perfected the traffic systems, the Committee of Traffic and Transportation. Although car crashes are quite rare, my parents seemed to catch the occasional bad luck. "Yeah," I say, "Camille James." "Well, Camille, I'm not available for dates this week, but I could fit it in next week just for you." I can actually hear the cocky smirk on his numerously-pierced face. "No, I'm not asking for a date, I just kind of need a favor." "What favor?" He is so arrogant I think about just hanging up, but I can't. This is for Maverick. I ignore his tone and continue. "I need you to come to the Fence with me." The disappointment in his voice is as clear as day when he responds, "Just take you to the Fence? What business do you have at the Fence?" "I just want to take a look I guess. I've heard you have been there before, so I figure you won't mind coming with me," I attempt at persuading him. It took him so long to give me a response, I thought he hung up. Then, he says, "When were you planning on going?" My heart leaps at my success. I'm coming, Maverick I think, wishing he could hear me. "Right now," I say to Riah. © 2014 Gracie_Girl429 |
