The email arrived. Was far too busy to open it.  

Signed, Bemused.

The wire arrived. Was far away from home. 

Resigned, Useless.

Arrived home three days later than planned

Had assigned chore - elsewhere.   

I don't usually swear but - did, very loudly at

end of garden, fairy far.

Right hand up.  Left hand up.  Both hands up.

Ever the fool. *If only I had listened*

Forgot the moat was being dug whilst absent.

Home. Pitch dark. Stepped onto the drawbridge.

Found a roundabout had been dug whilst away.

Put my foot in it. Flightless. Hospitalised.

So,  this story is briefer than intended - in

fact it's been abridged. Too far?
