Broken smile

Broken smile

A Poem by EJ Coleman

This is the moment that always comes

The only possible of all the outcomes

But how would you know?

How would you know, how far you could go?

There is always a point of no return

And I always knew it would soon be your turn

Now I leave you with a broken smile

Head cracked against the kitchen tile

And they'll all get to see

They'll know everything you did to me

If I could I would smile even more

Looking up at you from here on the floor

You can scream, you can scream all you want

But bring me back is something you can't

You have to remember that it was you

And I used to be the only one who knew

But now they'll all do

I wonder how that will work out for you

I feel it's a very relatable poem as many, if not all of us have seen things from that perspective.
