The Battle

This is something I wrote while me and my boyfriend are going through a rough patch.

I wish I could end all this pain,

this hurt

Just a simple phrase of I'm done,

or this is over...

I could end it all in a split second...

 

Yet my heart says no

It says that I should keep moving forward.

Yet in my mind it says,

"Why put yourself through so much hurt"

"You need to stop this, it isn't worth it"

 

I stay in this constant battle between,

ending it all now, or pushing through it all.

Each shot in this battle, each blow,

is another blow to my strength.

If it doesn't end I will crumble.

 

I will always have this battle in me,

of my heart and my mind.

Until the day everything comes together,

It will always be a fight between moving forward,

and taking a step back and letting go.

I like the honest tone in the words. The above lines are true. All of us need calm and peace with another. If we don't have it. It will be a up and down battle to find happiness. I liked the poem.
