Happily Never After

Happily Never After

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

I'm a f*****g mess,
and you don't even give a damn.
Though you're the one who says
so what, forget the plan.
But I don't want anything to do with you
though you turned me on with
pure adventure.
Sucks, but that's been the truth
for far too long.
You deserve hell,
but I'm doing too damn well
to turn around,
look back on
your bullshit sound.
You hit me with a smack
in the heart.
Screw the souls,
f**k the art,
below the grave
with no fresh start.
Here and now,
but that's not how
our fairytale
was supposed to turn out.
