Treats You

Treats You

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

Standing
directly in front of me now,
what would I do to you?
How would I truly love
to give all the pain that
you filled in my thoughts and
with it I would kill,
deeply putting it further
into your cold blooded heart,
just like I felt.
Instead,
I suppose that I'll walk away
and toss out
whatever I had originally planned to say
because this is the
way to truly let go.
I'd rather stop this,
annoyance and hurting,
not to be friends rather than
to just stop all the bleeding.
My scar is too
big to cover up with
a couple pounds of makeup.
I can't help it.
I fall to the ground.
Will our memories break
our fall?
