Red Wine

Red Wine

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

Stand at the beach,
Toes in the sand.
So much for the ocean water,
Tastes so bland.

Words you whispered,
For just us to know.
Stayed with me,
Should I let go?

Always assumed love was
Like fingers in sand,
Time is so slow now
And I'm feeling so cramped
In here.

Blood was spilled
That night.
You would know,
Holding the knife.
Stab me again,
Please don't hesitate.
Don't say when, but
Don't shine the blade.
That is worse.
