You could search me in the basement,

You could search me in the yard, 

You could search me in the hallway,

You could search me on the stair;

You could search me in the shadows,

You could search me in the light,

You could search me in the foul,

You could search me in the fair;

You could search me on a compass,

You could search me on a clock,

You could search me in a circle,

You could search me in a square;

You could search me in a waking,

You could search me in a sleep,

You could search me on a truth,

You could search me on a dare;

You could search me in the water,

You could search me in the earth,

You could search me in the fire,

You could search me in the air;

You could search me on a wing,

You could search me on a prayer -

You could search me over anything,

I’m neither here nor there;

I’m never anywhere!

You can search far and wide, but you'll never find me because I'm never in your sight , This is just a interesting piece of poetry, it repeats the words " you could search me" numerous times, and you list every possible way for them to be searched, yet they can never be found, perhaps they're invisible or maybe they're a concept and not an actual object or person. Interesting one!
