Towingo and TowongoA Poem by emipoemiTowingo and Towongo went out to build a car To drive them on adventures through the near and far. They weaved together boxes, and clambered in to start, But couldn’t go five feet before the whole thing fell apart. Towingo and Towongo live out amidst the Congo, And relish playing bingo, and thrill at chasing bongo. And ev’ry day they’re drunk on life, For life is a bottle of beer. Towingo and Towongo went out to build a boat To sail them on adventures to the lands of note. They weaved together boxes, and pushed it from the bank, But not far down the river they were bailing ’til it sank. Towingo and Towongo live out amidst the Congo, And relish playing bingo, and thrill at chasing bongo. And ev’ry day they’re drunk on life, For life is a bottle of beer. Towingo and Towongo went out to build a plane To fly them on adventures in the sky’s domain. They weaved together boxes, then jumped it from a mound, But didn’t last too long before crash-landing on the ground. Towingo and Towongo live out amidst the Congo, And relish playing bingo, and thrill at chasing bongo. And ev’ry day they’re drunk on life, For life is a bottle of beer. Towingo and Towongo went out to build a kite To flutter on adventures to their hearts’ delight. They weaved together branches and leaves from tamarinds, Then tailed it with a string, and watched it tango with the winds. Towingo and Towongo live out amidst the Congo, And relish playing bingo, and thrill at chasing bongo. And ev’ry day they’re drunk on life, For life is a bottle of beer. -EDP © 2017 emipoemiReviews
