Weirdos make the best of friends:

They’re always up for fun-

A child still dwells within their souls

Beneath the moon and sun.

 

Weirdos make the best of friends:

They’re all they need to be-

They’re round, they’re flat, they’re far from square,

Except in honesty.

 

Their heads may not be firmly straight,

Their feet may not turn right.

They’re wise - in cracks; they’re quick - in wit;

They’re bright when given light.

 

Yet Weirdos make the best of friends:

They’re constantly on call-

They care, they share, they but require

Your friendship most of all.

Your poem is really funny and it has a true realistic message. I can find myself into it (and I bet that every weirdo can).



You are outlined in an indirect way the features of a "weird" person and not only using your own vision.

Nicely written. I'm guessing that my instant thought matched that of most readers, i.e. thinking about weirdos I've known or still know. There are the ones in the public eye like on Friends or Big Bang Theory, but I mainly thought of former colleagues who never quite 'fitted the mould' and were a breath of fresh air. Life would be dull indeed without their paradigm challenges and, as you say, honesty.
