This is our WorldA Poem by emipoemiDead is the land- Woods, mountains and leas. Dead is the sky, Dead are the seas. Far and wide, day and night, There’s no peace, care, or bliss. This is our world! You don’t see it, but it is.
Dead are we all, Within and without. As are all plants Which in Spring sprout. Our eyes seldom see, In our thoughts we’re remiss. This is our world! You don’t see it, but it is.
Cold is our breath Wherever we roam; Cold is our heart, Cold is our home. Cold are even the truths Which we heedlessly miss. This is our world! You don’t see it, but it is.
Nothing is real. Nothing we see Is that which we Take it to be. Our lives are dark paths, Our home an abyss. This is our world! You don’t see it, but it is.
Gloom, grimness, grey! Carrion, scree, sloe! ’Tis all that we see- ’Tis all that we know. ’Tis all that exists, Yet ’tis what we dismiss. This is our world! You don’t see it, but it is.
We all are alone Upon this dead land. Alone we’re about, Alone do we stand. ’Tis distressing, but true, This is what is amiss- This is our world! You don’t see it, but it is. -EDP © 2017 emipoemiReviews
