Saying GoodbyeA Poem by emipoemiTo say goodbye brings sorrow’s boat ashore- Our tears well up and rain upon the floor- From wanting much to be where just before, Or to again have what we have no more. Whene’er at leisure we’re most wont to roam About the world, exploring high and low, But seldom have desire to go back home, (Much less to leave when we from home must go). Most things the value of spilt milk may bear, Implying ’tis inane to sink in grief Should they be lost or fall in disrepair, But still we weep and wail in disbelief. Yet all we have and all we come to see Shall ever be preserved in memory. -EDP © 2018 emipoemiReviews
