In My BackyardA Poem by emipoemiThe golden gleaming summer rays That stream across the boulevard Illuminate the garden world That lively blooms in my backyard. ’Tis such a mesmerizing sight That moving onward would be hard. One glance and you would shortly be Amidst the grace in my backyard. ’Twixt roses red and violets blue There’s nothing one would disregard. ’Twixt scents of lilacs, honey, too, All can be found in my backyard. Sweet music plays within the breeze From dawn to dusk, unstrained, unmarred, And always puts a soul at ease In my backyard, in my backyard, In my mellifluous backyard. Along the peaceful path of dreams, Across the world my passions guard, The wonders make for pleasant days And scenic nights in my backyard. From all the branches emanate The tender love of Abelard, Providing such sublimity, Providing bliss in my backyard. Amidst a bed of daffodils Lies Keats, the ever steadfast bard, Composing lines to aid preserve The life and love in my backyard. My garden, vibrant through and through, Would never let a soul be barred From seeing what enchantments lie In my backyard, in my backyard, In my magnificent backyard. For ever does the glamour gleam In my backyard, in my backyard, In my fair Eden-like backyard. -EDP © 2018 emipoemiReviews
