Push

Push

A Poem by Emily P
"

I am a train

"

I am a train

With mismatched cars and no conductor

There are no passengers

My insides are empty

There are no tracks for me to follow

I make my own path

Full speed ahead

I’ll flatten anything

And everything on my trail

I run through forests

Where there are no people

No life

Isolation is my only friend

I swerve through trees

At times I’ll run right into them

Still

I move forward

Fighting

Despite the sounds

Of my broken engine crying out

I dive through oceans

I will become flooded

I don’t mind

The water can fill me up

Drag me down

To the ocean floor

Down here

My engine may not work

This may be better than it working at all

My trail may not burn

But neither will those

Who were unfortunate enough

To be standing in my way

I hear the sound of the train... I loved the concept of the poem as you have presented yourself as a train which is moving in fast pace, it really doesn't care what's coming in front of it, it is moving in its own pace... There is a thought provoking feel in the poem which gives the reader an opportunity to think himself or herself as the train... Very well done frnd...

Sincerely
Dhiman
