( Extract 9) Edaline Simard's Diary of Completly and Utterly Normal?

A Chapter by emilythestrange

Okay, it took me an entire day to recover from the shock of seeing Mum's blood- red hair, and that was with liqurice and a night out with Esmie, ( yes, the girl. I eventually had to ask her name. Esme Lola Savanna Esmerelda Vignola. Seriously, who are her parents? ), but I was still completly and utterly fazed. Normally people say that they are un- fazed, but I am saying I am fazed. I must go now, and tell Mum if she does anything else to her hair I am running away.

                                  Later

It worked. Except, my mum is not a cryer. But she cried when I told her I'd run away if she did anything else to her hair. " No! No! Don't run away, Edaline! " she was saying. I must go find Raff.

                                 Later

Okay, here is my conversation with Esmie, before I forget it.

Esmie- " Hi, Eda"

Me- " Hey Esmie"

Esmie- " What's up? "

Me- " I'm abashed that my mum is turning normal! "

Esmie- " Who is your mum? And also, what in the name of your blue hair does abashed mean? "

Me- " Ellen Saye. And my dad is Barnard Malyins. And it means scared, by the way. What do you learn at school, how to paint your nails and walk into doors? "

Esmie- " Okay, but why do you think she is turning normal? And why don't your mum and dad have the same name? And why do you not have the same name as one of them? "

Me- " I think she is turning normal because she has gone back to her normal hair colour! She has always had dyed hair, for as long as I can remember! And they don't have the same name because when they got married they decided not to. And when they had me they told me I could pick any name from the family tree that I wanted, so I picked Simard"

Esmie- " Edaline! Just because she went back to her natural hair colour doesn't mean she is turning normal! Anyway I'd better go, it's dinner time at my house"

Me- " It's midnight"

Esmie- " We have very late dinners"

What an ending to a conversation! I'd better go, I'm getting hungry for some liqurice. I seem to be living on the stuff these days! I'd better get some nutrition soon, otherwise I might get thin and die or something.
