A Heart To Host

A Heart To Host

A Poem by Emily Sutliff

Today I just sat.

I sat and I drank some tea.

I sat and wondered whose heart

I can be a home to.

I wondered what kind of heart

I will encounter.

Will I encounter an anxious heart

with a troubled past?

Or, maybe an excited one,

with a life full of curiosity.

Whomevers heart I may host,

I will give it the abundant love it well deserves.

But today I will sit.

Sit and take care.

But mostly be a home,

to my own heart.
