Le ViolA Poem by Emily SutliffThis is a poem in reaction to one of Edgar Degas's piece, "Le Viol"Shuttered in a damp attic where no one could hear. Exposed were their emotions that lie in broken pieces. One cheated, the other had beaten. One was to leave, the other insisted on not. The torture went on for too long, there was no point in retrieving what had been lost. Alone, they continue to sit and be, until reunited again as one. © 2016 Emily SutliffAuthor's Note
