Thousands of Fireflies

Thousands of Fireflies

A Poem by Emily Robinson

Enveloped in thousands of fireflies
sitting in a field, weeping heavily
coming back to a place, I had never planned to be
too much pain, too many memories
sitting on the hood of a car in a field, looking up at the stars

I was reminded of God's deliverance
and the billions of stars helped me recall the promises given to Abraham.
and the promises God had already given me
I was caught in an unexplained peace
sitting on the hood of a car in a field, looking up at the stars

Surrounded by thousands of fireflies
sitting in a field, both grieving and clinging to hope
singing because I know that evil will one day lose it's voice
rejoicing because truth always wins out in the end
sitting on the hood of a car in a field, looking up at the billions of stars.

God is the master who orchestrates it all.
