Hidden behind an invisible wall.

Hidden behind an invisible wall.

A Chapter by Emily May
"

those lonely strange times where everything happens without you, but with you at the same time? read and interpret, i hope it makes sense to you. :)

"

Staring out into time, I see things around me.

Beautiful things, crazy things, normal things.

An everyday scene.

I am not involved. I am not noticed.

It is as if a bubble has been placed around my body.

I cannot move, cannot speak, my breathing is calm and rhythmic.

In and out.

A paralysing peace settles over my being.

I feel wrapped up, enveloped by my own emotions.

Heightened in this sense of exclusion.

Can people see me?

Or have they chosen not to?

I have been blocked out of their vision.

I am the visible ghost.

Noticeable, if you dare to look.

But then, also so easy to ignore.

Can you see me?
