Journal entry #1
I woke up with a pounding headache. My ears were ringing, drowning out all of the sound around me. I couldn't even see where I was, everything was white. I could feel that sand was in my hair and I was drenched from head to toe. I licked my chapped lips. They were salty. All at once, my vision cleared and my hearing was restored. I could make out three faces staring down at me, speaking a different language, or maybe I still wasn’t hearing right. Too out of it to even be fazed by the people above me, I looked around and saw miles and miles of ocean in front of me. Behind me was a little hut and some vegetation, which also seemed to go on for miles. I sat up and the three people backed off. I could now tell that it was a group of women, no older than 30. I heard them whispering to each other; I’m pretty sure it was english.
“Hello?” I could barely even croak it out. “Where am I?”
“Hello,” one of the woman said with a thick accent, spanish probably. “I am Allana and these are my sisters, Diana and Victoria. You can’t ask us where you are because we don’t know. My sisters and I have been stranded here for years.”
That’s when everything came back to me, hitting me like a slap in a face. The boat, the storm, the raft, and drifting away into the vast ocean which seemed like there was no end. I forgot that I didn’t have my journal before this so I will have to explain what happened. But for now I have to go, bye journal.

Journal entry #2
Ok, now I must explain how I got to this island. It all started when I got in a fight with my dad over some stupid thing. I can’t even remember what it was. So whenever I get mad or upset, I go out to the ocean in our back yard and I get on my sailboat. Ever since I was little I was fascinated with the sea. So my father took me sailing once and I fell in love. Since then I have been sailing. Sailing takes my mind off of everything and it calms me down. That particular day was very foggy and there were signs of storms but I didn’t care. As I was running outside to get to the boat, I could hear my dad yelling to get back in the house and that it wasn’t safe to go out. But I just kept on running, running, running until I got on the boat and sailed off into the fog, not looking back. The further I got out, the harder it was to see and the harder it was to control the boat. It eventually got to the point where I took out the raft and abandoned the sinking boat. It was really bad. So I clutched onto the raft and hoped and prayed that I wouldn’t tip over. I am pretty sure I blacked out because the next thing that happened was me waking up in the sand. So that is how I got here. I also have to say that I do not have a mother. One that is alive anyways. She died when I was only little, when Nick, my brother, was born. She died from childbirth and left my father with my brother and I to take care of all alone. I don't want the sister to see me writing so I have to go now, goodbye journal.

Journal entry #3
Hello, it’s me again, Tessa. I have become very fond of Allana, Diana, and Victoria. You could tell that they were sisters with their dark hair and hazel eyes. They were extremely beautiful. They told me that they were from Hawaii and had a family there. Their mother and father must be worried sick about them and they said they had a little brother named Cam. They got here because there was a storm when they were on their way back from California, causing the boat to sink and they too floated away in a raft. Anyways, they helped me set up a hut of my own by gathering wood, leaves, and vines and putting it together. They seemed to know what they were doing because they built the thing in under an hour about. There are no clocks here, so I’m just guessing that it was an hour. Allana even set me up with fresh water and something to eat. Victoria and Diana then showed me around the forest. There were little ponds all around with fresh water and various fruit trees. The best part about my day was learning how to fish with the makeshift fishing rods that Diana had made. We sat on the rocks by the ocean and found muscles to crack open and put on the line. After that, we just sat there with our poles, waiting for someone to feel a bite. Finally, I got one and we cooked it and ate it that night for dinner. The three sisters are skilled at making fires with just some wood and dry grass and leaves from the forest. I am tired and should probably go to sleep although it is still bright out, until tomorrow journal.

Journal entry #4
I am not in a good mood right now. I was just doing what I did everyday, fetching water, fishing, catching crabs, when Allana called me over to her hut. Allana is the oldest sister, about 31, and she is very smart. When she called me over she said that she had to talk to me. This is what she said:
“Tessa, ever since you have washed up on this island, you have shown my sisters and I great valor. You are one of a kind. Diana, Victoria, and I have been on this island for what seems like decades and we would like to go back to the real world and I know you would too. If you try I know you can make it back home. You are such a talented young woman who isn’t afraid to try new things and I believe that if you put your mind to it, you will be able to see your family again. There is something inside of you that just tells me you can.”
I was just mad because I honestly had no idea how she thought I was going to get back. It’s not like I can just swim back or anything. So I bursted out, “I can’t make it home and you know I can’t!” You have told me that you have tried multiple times to get home but nothing worked, so what makes you think that I am your way out of this place? Yeah sure I know how to control a boat but do you see any boats? No. I’m going on a walk around the island. Goodbye.” I turned and walked away. I could hear Allana’s voice calling my name but I ignored her. I walked until I couldn’t feel my legs and then i just collapsed. When I woke up, I walked back to the hut, where thankfully Alanna was asleep. I didn’t feel like dealing with her right now. So right now I am just sitting in my hut, writing this, and thinking about my family. Are they worried? Probably. Do they know where I am? Of course not, that was a stupid question. Anyways I have to go, one of the sisters is up and I have to pretend to sleep so that I don’t have to talk, I will write later journal.

Journal entry #5
Hi once more. Let me tell you a little bit about today. So I woke up to whispering outside of my hut. I knew it was the sisters but I did not want to go talk to them. So I begun thinking about what happened last night and I realized that I really wasn’t being reasonable. I should have listened more on what Allana had to say. I shouldn’t have run off ever so dramatically just to fall asleep in the middle of the island. I should have already began the planning to how we are going to get out of this place. Thinking about all this made me get up and go outside. There I found the sisters sitting around and talking. I looked at all three of them and a huge grin broke out across my face. They looked confused because why on earth would I be smiling when I got very mad at Allana last night and didn’t want to try and leave.
“Gather big pieces of wood, some vines, the raft I came in on, and as much tree sap as you can find. We are getting out of this place!” Happy and relieved, Allana jumped up and squeezed me until I couldn’t breathe. Diana and Victoria cheered and after our celebration. I explained that we are making a raft and we are going to need food, water, and lots and lots of building supplies. The wood would be used for the bottom of the raft where we would sit and to make the oars. The vines would tie everything together. The tree sap could be used for sticking the deflated raft onto our makeshift boat for shelter use. We went off and got everything we needed and started to build. We put together and tied and stuck everything we needed to build the raft until it was complete. By the time we finished we were exhausted and hungry so we ate some crabs over the fire with some fruit. I’m tired so I am going to sleep. I am glad that I can go to sleep with thoughts about waking up and possibly heading out to sea tomorrow, goodnight journal.

Journal entry #6
Hello! It is currently the morning of the day we venture out to sea! The boat is all set, we have our supplies, and we are ready to go! Every few hours I will write some more because it is going to be hard to write while on the rocking boat. Will write later!
It’s Tessa. As of now we are in the middle of the ocean where no land is in sight. It was tough getting away from the island with all of the waves. And let’s not even talk about the sharks that could have been underneath us just waiting to get a bite! But after we got out, the water was calm and easy to paddle in. Got to go, Victoria said that I should try paddling.
You will not believe what just happened! We made it! We made it to land! I must explain how we got there though. When I was asked to paddle, I felt something inside me click. Then all of a sudden, I felt an urge to turn to the left and start paddling, so I did. For a half an hour or so I was going in that direction until I felt it again. It was like a very strong gut feeling but more like I had someone telling me where I was supposed to go. It was weird and exciting at the same time. This time I paddled a little bit more slightly to the right. Diana asked if I was tired and wanted her to paddle but I wasn’t tired at all. I was filled with adrenaline. I felt like I never had before. I felt like I had this compass inside my brain. I kept on paddling, faster and faster until the three sisters were wiped out. I still didn’t feel tired and that is when I saw it. Land. At first I thought I was hallucinating but I rubbed my eyes and it was still there! I woke them all up yelling. And they began to cheer and scream with me. As we reached land I realized that I had seen that beach before. It was my town! That was where I lived! Allanah, Diana, and Victoria were shocked. I landed us right back where I had started. I was shocked too. Without even thinking I started running to the street. I ran down that road and found the street I lived on. I knocked until my hand started hurting and my dad opened the door. I ran into his arms and hugged him until I couldn’t feel anything. As much as I wanted to stay and talk about my journey, I told him that I had to go attend some unfinished business. I ran all the way back down to the beach where I saw the sisters.
“Thank you,” I said, “you have taught me so much and I am very glad I got the chance to meet you. I have to go now, I love you guys. Goodbye”
They said, “We love you too, Tessa. Goodbye.” They walked down the beach and I stood there with tears of joy in my eyes. I was home at last.

Journal entry #7
Hello!! It is me Tessa. It has been one year since my journey to the island and I have stayed in touch with Allana, Victoria, and Diana. They wrote to me that they have reunited back with their family and are so happy to be home. They thanked me for bringing them home and said that they couldn’t have done it without me. I was glad to be home too. My father and brother were so happy to see me and now that it has been quite some time, they never miss a chance to tell them that they love me because they never know when I am going to be gone for good. I see now that I took them for granted and I never want to experience the feeling I did when I wasn’t with my family. So life is good, and it also is good for the sisters. Until next time, bye journal...
