Tired of Islands

Tired of Islands

A Poem by Emily R
"

Tired of the same old places Exhausted from all these ugly faces To young to do anything

"
Tired of the same old places
Exhausted from all these ugly faces
To young to do anything
To old to sit and pretend this yearning feeling doesn't exist
Struggling to live each moment
But each moment has no life
Each moment is the same as the last
Creating on big repetitive sequence of nothingness

And all that I aspire to
The only thing my heart dreams of
Is to leave
Let me leave!

As time goes on, all I can do is practice
unable to find motivation
I continue to side-step, crossover and avoid
Pretending bliss comes from a paper bag
Because I guess for now it does
It will mask it for awhile
but eventually you'll find
that no matter how many times you draw
regardless of what made you fall
one day escaping wont be enough

I need to leave she sighs
I'm so ready to say goodbye
I'm so tired
She's so tired
So damn tired of islands
