Cracked Chair
A Poem by
Emily
Never knowing...
Sitting in a cracked
Up chair
Never know when
I am free
Sitting with these chains
Who knows who else has been in these
Being free
Feels just a
Dream.

Another good read. Thank you for sharing your work Emily! Surely, my wheels of imagination have set in to motion. I see the cracked up chair symbolically as a place where there's no growth, no progress, no opportunities of moving forward. Good one! Have a nice day ahead! :-)

I like the idea of not knowing if you are free and wondering who else has worn these chairs, experienced these same traumas perhaps. An interesting thought. :)

This reminded me of an old rocking chair my siblings and I had as children. There's a slat missing, but my mother still has it in her possession.

Just the idea of a cracked up chair brings a flood of images to my mind... that yours found its way to chains is intriguing. I wonder what lies between the chair, whole and unused, and the broken chair with its chains. My imagination weeps with the possibilities. A great poem to make one think, Emily! Thanks for sharing...

Thanks that means a lot!
I like it maybe it describes how physical writers feel when they sit on their desks.
