The Fairy Dance

The Fairy Dance

A Poem by Emilia Kingsley
"

Inspired by Offenbach: Barcarole, performed by André Rieu.

"

A dark forest

Suddenly lights!

Tiny, flickering flames that sweep into inky blackness

A bright clearing

Suddenly alive!

Swirling in silent circles to some unheard melody

A fairy queen

Suddenly arrives!

Dancing under the stars while the forest watches quietly

A pink sunrise

Suddenly dawns!

Miniature lights fade into the growing shadows of trees

A green forest

Suddenly silent.

I love this so much! It flows so well, as Uday Bhasuthkr stated. Great work! I would love to see more of this in the future.

Offenbach, Andre Rieu......both very inspiring muscians and obviously inspired your 'muse' with this beautiful rendition of "The Fairy Dance." Full of descriptive stanzas.....Thank you so much for joining in the contest with this superb poem!
