Something I Let Go

Something I Let Go

A Poem by Emilee Grimm

Long talks about religion

Long debates about love

Pondering about marriage

And disagreement

  about the meaning of forever

But still something about you

made me doubt my decision to shut you out

We are compatible, I say to myself

If we can look past the age gap

If we can agree on children

If you can accept that I am not experienced and

....If I had not made the decision to let it all go and

             give

                   it

                      all

                           up.

I like this; it’s brutally honest and sounds very personal,
Reading it I feel like I’m intruding, almost like I’m reading someone’s dairy without them knowing,
But hay, what do I know?

I like the doubt and the hope underneath it. Nice wording! Well done!
