Unspoken

So many things can go unspoken and unsaid in platonic relationships....

Their eyes penetrate each other

Their bodies stand so close

Lips brush hesitantly

Whispers are exchanged

As seeking hands grope

Will he ever notice me,

the one who stands beside him?

Always he wants more of her,

But demands so much of me.

How can I be there for him

When all he sees his her?

Too many promises he has broken.

Too many lies I have kept.

I can’t keep holding on,

When he has already let go.

But I’ll stay here and

I’ll wait.

My thoughts,

Unspoken…

Realizing it is my heart

He has broken.
