A poem for my best friend

You know how to make me laugh

And always make me smile.

I’m so sorry I went away.

I didn’t mean to leave you behind.

I think of you every day

And cry every night.

And I can’t help but wonder

if you do the same thing.

I don’t want you to feel my pain,

But I fear that someone has taken my place.

No one will ever be in yours;

No one ever has

No one ever is

No one ever will be

Because you are

My one

My only

My Best Friend.

An honest and sad piece that a lot of people can relate to.
I thoroughly enjoy it and understand the feelings expressed: Sorrow, hopelessness, desertion and even worry.
The loss of a friend is heartbreaking at an age and in any language.

I think that sometimes we take our best friends for granted, and then when they aren't there anymore, we truly realize how much they mean to us. Great write!
