A Poet's Frustration

A Poet's Frustration

A Poem by Emilee Grimm
"

I am so in need of inspiration!!!

"

I search for the right words to

leave on the paper

But the ink doesn't flow,

the paper rips and crinkles.

I sigh in anger and despair;

the paper absorbs my tears.

No inspiration comes to mind.

I pull at my hair

and pound fists into the table.

Why can't I write?

Have I been cursed?

Perhaps I've been shamed.

I throw the paper out

and damn that stupid pen...

life is a drag when a poet cannot write.

Writer's block... the biggest enemy of a writer. Don't force it, relax, do other things, observe the world around you, read from others, see a play or whatever else works for you.

Have tabula rasa before you begin.
Inspiration is like love, it hits you when you least expect it.

Liked your poem.

Alot of people get stuck and need insperation. I havent yet, but thats because i write 9 books at a time. Maybe you can use a problem that people go through. I have loads of ideas on Teen angst if you need any. Thats something that my school is famous for.

Every poet/writer goes through several writer's blocks and it is very obvious to happen...this is really a nice poem written about writers block!
and I'm sure you will come out of it very soon :)

I think every poet goes through this at some point. Your lack of inspiration has become your inspiration. It's a lovely idea. But, I seem to be expierencing writer's block myself! Good luck on finding something to inspire you.

I hate not being able to write. I usually pound my fists against my self though...
Anyways, you could do a poem about fire or rain, ect. Or you could do a poem about a relationship between you and your parents. I'm gonna do that soon...
