Neophile

Neophile

A Poem by Emilee Grimm
"

Ability to adapt to change to an extreme extent. Distaste or loathing for tradition. Tendency to become bored quickly with old things. A desire/obsession to experience things of novelty.

"

I am resilient, but to an unhealthy extent

No routine is good enough for me

I can’t focus on one thing for an extended amount of time

Boredom engulfs me so quickly

I just can’t help myself

I adapt rapidly to extreme change

Maybe this is unnatural

Or perhaps I am

a neophile

When I experience this, I call it ADD. Maybe they're connected because I become bored quickly and easily, too, as if the novelty of everything wears off too quickly, no matter how exciting to begin with
