When Comfort Flees

When Comfort Flees

A Poem by Mirror
"

Saddness

"
What is more important in life
Than the breathe of oxygen
Every day, every second?
I drove passed by and saw
Crashed car and four bodies
One toddler with her teddy
Life taken too soon
And I watched the wails
The pains, groans
And comfort seems to be
A luxury that has fled

The scene you describe is sufficiently haunting, so it doesn't require added drama, just the simple telling of the details, as you've done here. This is when a writer just needs to trust the message to make the point & it's impactful! Fondly, Margie
