The Silent Interview

The Silent Interview

A Poem by Mirror
"

Hard Choices , Tough Hearts.

"

There in the silent room
Sitting with hands clasped
Elbows touching the knees
A serious look
Rolled up sleeves
Grand wristwatch
Neat fingers
And his thoughts lingers

They watched him consider
Was the pay too low? they wondered
He was too good to let go
They silently hoped he will say yes
The tables itself remained silent
Holding anxious hands and sheets
They heard he had wife and kids
But a man must be a man on dot

Don't give up just yet
In you heart
For who knows where your worth lies?
In dreams, in paths
The journey can not tell
So long, farewells
In here, right here, on tables, the gamble
The choice, In the silent room

Very true-to-life description of how it might feel to be in a job interview. I like the way you convey the sensations by describing things in a physical way, to show instead of tell. Good job of adding suspense, so we can actually feel how the final question is hanging in the air (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I love the idea behind the poem! To me, it felt a little wordy but amazing! I had a different idea for that same title.

Interesting piece Mirror and it seems an exit interview exposes the mystery that is often on the other side of the coin.
