You're the Most Important

We all need a little strength and encouragement sometimes.

If you want to be the best,

You've got to be yourself.

It's useless trying to be someone else,

And copying everything they do.

You've got to take chances,

It doesn't matter if they go wrong,

You get up and try again,

And repeat until you achieve it.

After all, there's no such thing as perfect.

As everyone is different.

So do what you want,

Be who you want to be,

Because as long as you're happy,

No-one else can take that away.

Build barriers if you need to,

Break them down when you're done.

Fight for what you believe,

And express yourself how you please.

The only person to hold you back is you.

So focus on yourself,

And only care for those who truly matter.

Because the whole time your focus is on someone else, you're just standing still.

The message through-out this piece is great, inspirational. I have always struggled being myself and being happy with who I am, so I focus on everyone else and put them first always. I guess I don't like thinking about myself, its just too hard sometimes, I have had a rough past so when I focus on me I get too emotional. But I am just starting to realize the importance of being true to yourself and looking after yourself and you write it beautifully. I love the last line, it's so true. All the best to you :)
