Choices

Choices

A Poem by Emily W

You find yourself in a twister,
Spinning and spinning around.
So many decisions to make,
If you want to touch the ground.

Time to rethink your big plan.
Faster and faster it gets,
Will you have fun or crash?
There will be no safety nets.

You're moving to the top,
Higher and higher you go.
Is this good or bad?
There's only you who will know.

Over the top you fly,
Falling and falling to land.
This is the end of the ride,
Maybe you'd like a hand?

Appreciate the inspirational, motivational and instructional piece.
Its rhymes are also wonderful.
Its special beauty lies in using structures like:Spinning and spinning,Faster and faster,Higher and higher and Falling and falling in second like of each stanza.
It shows that you really worked attentively to construct the poem.
Congratulations,again.!!!

This hits hard... literally... as the reader takes in the words... people are not incline to get help, until the problem gets to a point of no return... and when they do finally get the help do they start to realize what life is all about again... or turn back to the person they were all over...

You are so true, it shouldn't have to be so hard to ask for help as soon as we need it. Thanks again.. read more
I really like this poem. It draws on the stressful demands of decision making, particularly when deciding on the excitement of short term versus the consequences in the long term. But what I like most about this poem is the hope with which it ends. That last question is so hopeful and presents a helping hand to those in need. Thank you for writing and sharing this poem with us!

Nice rhyming. After reading this,I can't help but think of one who works at the stock market and the frenzy that takes place there. I suppose there's a bit of that in anything we take a risk on. We all need someone to help us out now and then.
