Slip away tonight

They're always saying goodbyes.

They speak to me like i'm a child,

But really i'm very wise

And inside my ageing feels mild.

 

Some times i try to speak

But i'm herded back to the silence.

They say i'm far to weak

But inside i feel so tense.

 

Whenever i make a sound,

The words come out, oh so slow.

My voice which used to be easily found,

Is now so quiet and low.

 

Sometimes i feel a million years old,

I've become so bored with the world.

Now i'm alone with no one to hold.

I'm surprised that i ever cared.

 

But now my mind is full of lies,

And my life is passed it's height.

I watch the people around me die,

Please let me slip away tonight.
