Writing can be both a blessing and curse. You're haunted if you are empty of words or manic if too many. Sometimes you catch the residual ending of something sublime and fail to capture it when writing it down. There are times when you begin writing something that makes no sense at all only to find it deeply moves others. Then there are times you are deeply moved by something you wrote but only to find others not feeling the same and the work being ignored. Writing is so complicated and yet simplistic. Much like we are individually as human beings. We are our art. Thank you for sharing your poem.
In a way, it is both. I think we are lucky to get to do this poetry thing. It may keep us up at night, and we might start thinking we aren't getting a choice in the matter...but I wouldn't give it up for the world, and I surely see it as a blessing...I feel we are the voice for our generation, just like the Beats were for theirs---
We are all works in progress.

I'm an English major with a professional writing concentration at Southern Connecticut State University. I love all types of writing and want to focus more on poetry and creative writing. more..
