Beyond my window sill

Beyond my window sill

A Poem by EmeraldFacet

Beyond my window sill
Is certain where my future lay
Before my window sill
Is where I embraced my life; Come What May!

In my heart
Is where it was all conceived
On my sleeves
Is how I made everyone believe

On my face
Is where I kept my grace
In my mind
I prayed for strength to keep up with the hasty pace

From my lips
I professed my gratitude
Because for my soul
He build a sturdy fortitude

My vision for the unwritten
Was intensly bright and strong
But now,
My reflection stares blankly at me
With eyes so wide- increasing my fright
Singing a haunting and lonely song

Before my window sill
I sit beside the edge of my bed
Trying to silence
The sweet voice of Doubt in my head

Beyond my window sill
I look up at the retiring sunset for a morsal of inspiration
But the dying hues insist on retiring for the day
Offering no opportunity
To use them to paint a picture of a promising sunrise

The darkness settles in
And it is night

a few spelling problems here and there. The piece has merit. I would rethink the ending since you appropriately leave us with a supposedly open mind.

"My reflection stares blankly at me with eyes so wide" love this line. It just paints such a lonely picture. Very nice poem, and very well done.

This was a moving glimpse inside your heart and mind. It amazed me how you connected your physical self to your feelings and fears...
