Emerald Facet

Emerald Facet

A Poem by EmeraldFacet

"Yeah, So What?.. its green" they say
As they swiftly and nonchalantly walk away?

But how oblivious can you be?
Don't you want to know?
Don't you want to see?
What truly is really there
What it can actually turn out to be.

The shades of blue
The streaks of yellow and gold too
The trace of crimson and dark maroon
While it is caressed under the melancholy enchanted moon

So, it isn't just green
As you initially thought you may have seen
Rather it is merely one facet
of this emerald so serene.

While the surface of the poem is so amazing- there is a deeper feel to it. It gives the essence of mystery and that makes it all that much more intriguing. It's no wonder you've written your pen name after it. Great work!

This reminds me of Glacier melt water. It flows emerald green from a distance but as you get closer to the rivers edge and peer into the shallows, one came make out all the different colors of stones underneath. I think the overall piece speaks of taking time to get to know the entire situation or person, not just the shell, that is often judged before the inner light can be seen.

Great Ink!
