MERMAIDS

SOFT WAVES LAP ONTO WARM GOLDEN SANDS

RETURN IN RHYTHM LEAVING RANDOM RIVULETS

GENTLE BREEZE BLOWS SOFT WITH SALTY PERFUME

HEAR MERMAIDS WITH PEARLS IN THEIR HANDS

CRABS CRAWL UNDER ROCKS INTO TINY SPACES

GREEN SEAWEED SWIMS WITH THE TIDE

STARFISH POINT TO ALL THE PLACES

WHERE THE SHOALS OF LITTLE FISH CAN HIDE

MALE SEAHORSES SWELL BURSTING WITH PRIDE

THEIR HATCHLINGS WILL NOT TRAVEL FAR

HE OPENS HIS MOUTH AND GIVES THEM A SIGN

LITTLE SEAHORSES KNOW WHERE TO HIDE

OCEANS CAN BE GENTLE, AND TURBULENT TOO

GREY CLOUDS FROWN AND WATERS GET ANGRY

LIGHTNING FLASHES AND THUNDER ROLLS THROUGH

PEACEFUL CALM RETURNS TO THE MERMAIDS WITH PEARLS IN THEIR HANDS
