Poets and PoliticiansA Poem by marym224A free verse about people on our planetPoli in Latin means many, more than a few tics in Latin means ‘blood-sucking mites’ when these meet poets, their rawness is softened when fighting for their various rights
Politicians work hard arguing their view in Parliament or Congress or on similar stages Poetic phrases and gentle terms are often used to calm politicians and their rages
Poets meet politics on many a level when attempting to persuade the masses that the taxes they pay are the only way to soften bureaucratic lashes
Poetic politicians are rare and few But their persuasive banter can change the view of thousands who vote the democratic way Hoping the outcome will favour their wishes .
All the rhetoric and red tape that alights opposites playing fields that vie for attention One for the poets, more than a few and one for the blood sucking mites.
