Midnight Creeps

Midnight Creeps

A Poem by Ashlyn
"

My first attempt at a horror poem.

"

Midnight Creeps

The spook at my window tap tap taps,
while the ghost at my door rap rap raps.
The skeleton in my closet tells tall tales,
while my demons convince me they will prevail.

How many nights do I dream awake?
Wondering when it's me they'll take.

It's my turn to go,
My turn to leave,
Slowly they'll crawl to my bedside.

Clutching my wrist,
Gripping my mouth,
Keeping my screams on the inside.

I'll claw the sheets and fight for life,
They'll drag me down,
Into the night...

Quiet...

Nobodies there...

Could it be...

That it's not me...

Not tonight...

But stay alert,
Be on guard,
Tomorrow will come again.

And the Ghoul at my window will tap tap tap,
while the ghost at my door rap rap raps.
