Perfect ImperfectionsA Poem by MaryPWhen you look in the mirror what do you see?
I see eyebrows that don’t quite match I see eyes that are different shapes I see a nowhere near perfect nose I see an untidiness I can’t escape I see spots, they can’t be ignored I see hair that never stays in place I see ears that seem too flat I see a weirdly shaped face I see a shoulders that are too broad I see a little too much fat I see nails that are always breaking I see there’s nothing I can do about that
But when I look past the details When I learn how to see Past the imperfections And see them simply as me I see a young girl whose still Changing into what she will be And I notice all the imperfections Go together quite perfectly © 2010 MaryPReviews
