Perfect Imperfections

Perfect Imperfections

A Poem by MaryP

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

I see eyebrows that don’t quite match

I see eyes that are different shapes

I see a nowhere near perfect nose

I see an untidiness I can’t escape

I see spots, they can’t be ignored

I see hair that never stays in place

I see ears that seem too flat

I see a weirdly shaped face

I see a shoulders that are too broad

I see a little too much fat

I see nails that are always breaking

I see there’s nothing I can do about that

But when I look past the details

When I learn how to see

Past the imperfections

And see them simply as me

I see a young girl whose still

Changing into what she will be

And I notice all the imperfections

Go together quite perfectly

true beauty lies in imperfections. if everyone looked the same, how society tells us we should look, then no one would be beautiful anymore. these 'flaws' are what makes you.. you. embrace it. & You will find confidence, & thus... your own beauty. great write & one we all can relate too :)
