Beautiful Disaster

Beautiful Disaster

A Poem by MaryP

No one looks at an exploding volcano

And wonders why it erupts

When you have lava bubbling inside you

Sometimes enough is enough

No one stands in an earthquake

And wonder why the ground cracks

When its built on such shaky foundations

A disaster is a matter of fact

No one watches a flood take place

And wonders why the water overspills

When there’s so much and it just keep piling up

People are going to get killed

So then, when you look at me

About to lose control

Do you not think that maybe

Things have started to take its toll?

that is one of the most beautiful pictures i have ever seen. as soon as i saw that, i knew i had to review this and i'm glad i did! i love the word play through out this! you make this poem seem so literally "matter of fact." this slow building process that just explodes! and people seemed baffled by it but it's confusing as to why... "do you not think that maybe/Things have started to take its toll?" i liked this a lot!
