those were the days

those were the days

A Poem by MaryP

I was just a child

So young and sweet

I splashed in puddles

And swung from trees

I laughed and cried

I jumped and screamed

I smiled at the thought

That I was living the dream

The nights were long

The days were longer

How life was so much simpler

When I was younger
