Dealing with Depression

Dealing with Depression

A Poem by MaryP

You don’t have scars on your wrist

But I have one on my heart

One for every tear you’ve ever cried.

You look the same as everyone else

You slip into a crowd.

You do not stand out.

You are not special.

But you will never be the same

You will never fit in.

After suffering the way you did.

After seeing the world through such paranoid eyes

The world will never appear safe.

The tears that hide in my eyes,

The tears I never cried

They are for you.

But do not worry

I am not here.

I am not special.

I slip into the void that is left

By you dealing with depression.
