I guess you could say this is a twist of fate,
That a knight would suddenly hesitate, To stand still when he's supposed to protect, The one who's his closest connect - An iron man of unshakable will, To sprint through battle and know the thrill, But not all knights wield swords and shields, Not all knights brave the fields. Some stay back, to mingle with luck, A deck of cards, a hand dealt, stuck, No winning matches, no pairs in sight, Still the gambler will fight. Clad in red, hat hanging low, Teaching fate how to tango, Smirking with an Ace in the hole, Knowing that his very soul - His very strength comes from one, Who's love burns brighter than any sun, Who tries, who helps, when it counts the most, To gamble it all, that you will boast. To become a better dancer still, Content with a silence ill, At the lack of words between the two, Much like how me and you - A knight who's fallen for the Queen of Hearts, Continues the hand, as he starts, To smile even wider still, Is it just for the thrill? Or is it for, Something more, That gives him strength to stand tall, And bet against it all. Perhaps the knight, so slim, so weak, So slow, so meek, The wind-up knight in your eyes, Breaks the silence with piercing eyes. And still he stands, his will unshaken, Almost as though a true strength awaken, Sings the strength of the gambler who - The same knight to protect you. And still I walk, gambling still, Hoping that you always will, Stay by my side, as my strength, my ace, And soon, we'll beat this race. So stay, as my strength, my muse, Stay, please, if you choose, To dance with at the beat of two hearts, Forging new starts. Dancing together, in perfect sync, Eyes on you that will never blink, Or look at any other than you, To dance, to sing, with love through - This waltz, this beat, against time, As everything will appear sublime, Euphoric, and growing stronger still, I love you and always will. © 2013 NocheAuthor's Note
