Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

A Poem by Noche

There's a lot of things I'd like to say,
To you on your glorious day,
That I'm glad you've been here for another year,
That I'm glad you've been so sincere.

I'd like to thank you for looking my way,
To light up my darkest day,
And smiling at every cliche,
And listen to what I've had to say.

Yeah, you told me before,
Of the times I couldn't be there for,
And I can't help but regret it so,
That there's so much about you I still don't know...

How you told me about your pain,
Enough to drive yourself insane,
Crying through every night,
Keeping it all out of sight.

Hiding it, so that we could all smile,
And laugh, and joke a while,
Until clipped wings held you down,
Forcing you here on the ground.

Falling on hard times, with wounds abound,
Screaming on the inside, going without a sound,
And though it's your birthday, I'm the one hoping,
That you don't spend it, sitting and moping...

'Cause someone like you deserves to soar,
Who can't be chained here down on the floor,
Laughing and smiling, like tomorrow's already here,
Living life out like there's nothing to fear.

You're another year older, and I can't help but say,
I'm glad I got to know you; Today,
Is most important, don't you see?
So please, honestly, smile for me?
