Just Give In

Sometimes giving up is for the best

I've decided to close my heart,
I've decided to give up from the start,

I've decided to just move "forward,"

I've decided that just makes me a coward.

But even with all these choices,

Even with all these voices,

That tell me not to give in,

I've decided I won't win.

Not in this fight to try to get you,

Not in this life, I know it's true,

So I've decided to just give in,

Instead of committing this sin.

Of trying to sway your heart dramatically,

Even though I know how fantastically,

It'd be to hold you just once,

I've decided it makes me a dunce.

An idiot, a loser, just plan stupid,

What was I thinking? That I was some Cupid?

Some being that could ever be loved?

Someone you could rely on when push really shoved?

No. I can't. Even sway your thought,

Right in the middle's where I'd hate to be caught,

So I've decided that I'll just give in.

Knowing that I'll never win.

Knowing that someone else could be best,

A "Mr. Perfect" among the rest,

But I wouldn't mind - just once,

That you wouldn't see me as a dunce.

That idiot, that loser. So stupid,

That maybe you could see me as Cupid,

That maybe you could make me empowered,

Instead of being this sinful coward.

So I've decided to just give in,

I've decided I don't want to win,

I've decided to stay unknown,

I've decided to suffer alone.
