By MyselfA Poem by em810"A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness." - Robert FrostThe vast night lined, Openings in the seam of the world, Memories caught in the shuffle, I cannot remember the last time I was hurt, And did you save yourself? Because I hid myself,
When it got harder to breathe, It was easier to leave, They’ve all forgotten me, I’m a lost soul on a journey, But we had intertwined, Now you’re hard to find, And did you save yourself? Because I hid myself,
Scars forgotten in the ceiling, Fissures I did not see, Started showing, When you came by, It all came down on me, I don’t think you should see me cry, I won’t tell you another lie,
And did you save yourself? Because I hid myself,
Why do you see me? Why can’t you leave it be? Why did you fight for me? Why won’t you hate me?
And did you save yourself? Because I hid myself, I hid myself, By Myself. © 2013 em810Author's Note
