Parasitic MindA Poem by Emily RoseInspired by a fantastic book I've read that addresses mental health, eating disorders and the importance of getting help.My mind, It works against me A parasite. And the host? My own body It leaks its thoughts Through my mind And convinces me That they are mine That they are true Always there There's constant reminders Look in the mirror But it's not your reflection The parasite Its eyes Have morphed your body Accentuates what you hate But when will enough Be just enough? When there's no fat When you are thin When there's merely bones Through translucent skin
